TALAVERA HEART 2
Upon arrival in the 16th century, the Talavera people began unearthing and producing clay pieces. This complex process is still used today to suit the needs of modern times. The ancient method remains uncompromised as the pigment is collected from naturally occurring minerals. Trim your tree with a bit of history! Each ornament is handmade by a Talavera artisan paid well over market price. All net profit is used to give back to the indigenous communities of Mexico.
Mexico’s history is a crossroad between the cultures of Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Modern Mexican art is utilitarian at the core, but detailed in beautiful patterns and colors that are rooted in folk art traditions from the indigenous and Spanish eras. We showcase beautiful, hand-crated products for everyday use like shoulder bags and cell phone cases.
